3- 31 march exhibition news

Design Studio Exhibition 2010

Necessity for the module requisites;

• There will be 15 students who wish to exhibit their work.
• Each student will be required to exhibit 3 pieces of work including posters; computer generated models and computerised animation.
• This will equate to 15*3 = 45 show pieces.
• Each piece will be oriented laterally.
• Posters will be numbered so that the general public will have an idea which way to walk around the exhibition area.

Required Props

In addition to comply with the idea of the theme we will be using various props:

• Cones which have been modelled to portray pencils.
• Ink splats designed from vinyl.
• A sofa to enable people to sit down.
• 2 tables to place CVS and business cards and university information.
• Shredded paper spilling out of bins (give the impression of designs rejected).
• Exhibition Board * 4.
• Information Boards * 2.
• Banners.

Health and Safety relating to the Props

• The props are solidly built and fire-resistant (not the paper).
• No prop will obstruct the entrances or exits should a fire ensue.
• All floor standing props will be securely braced.
• Banners will be securely fastened to the walls and tested.

Electric Requirements

• A projector is required and ordered to display animation and models.
• A student will provide and attach the laptop to the projector.
• Extension leads * 2 will be required.

Health and Safety

• A student will be in charge of the laptop and projector at all times. (These items will never be left without a student being in attendance).
• The cables will be covered by cable protectors to eliminate the general public tripping over the wires. The cable protectors will not be placed amongst the general public walking area.
• The projector will be securely braced and placed on a solid table.
• All electrical items will be tested by a qualified electrician (IEE) to be accepted into the exhibition (PAT tested)and this will include extension leads
• Certificates will be available on request.

Additional Equipment Required

Floor standing screen to display students works.

Health and Safety

• The 80” screen will be encircled by tape and stands to ensure the general public do not enter into the area and get too close to the screen. The tape will cover an area which will account for the screen falling over however the screen will be securely braced.

Drinks

Soft drinks;

• Orange Squash
• Blackcurrant Juice.
• Bottled Water (sparkling and still)
• Shop bought cake or biscuits (if allowed!)

Health and Safety

Would like to have your opinion for allergies, sugar intolerances etc.
Bottled water is fine if that is the only product which is safe to give to the general public.
